Cancellation & Refund Policy
- I aim to be fair and reasonable and will always communicate clearly.
- I understand that plans can change, and I aim to be fair and reasonable
Cancellations and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.
- Cancellations made with reasonable notice will not be charged.
- Cancellations made 4 hours prior to the appointment or missed appointments may be charged to cover time reserved and the cost of driving.
Refunds
Charges apply only for the time spent providing the service.
If you are unhappy with a service, please raise this at the time so we can address it where possible.
Refunds are not provided for change of mind or for issues outside of my scope.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

The following Terms of Service outline how Tech Help At Home and Gary Simmons provide services and what you can expect when engaging me. By booking or using my services, you agree to these terms.
1. About my services
Tech Help At Home provides in-home assistance with everyday technology, including help with computers, tablets, phones, Smart TVs, apps, printers, and general technology use.
My services focus on:
- Setup and configuration
- Explanation and guidance
- Helping technology work as intended
I aim to work calmly, clearly, and respectfully in your home.
2. What I do not provide
To avoid confusion, Tech Help At Home does not provide:
- Hardware repairs or replacement of internal components
- Screen repairs
- Electrical or data cabling work
- Internet service provider troubleshooting (e.g. NBN, Telstra, Optus)
- Cybersecurity services, including hacking, phishing, scams, or virus removal
If an issue is outside my scope, I will explain this clearly and, where appropriate, suggest next steps or a suitable specialist.
3. Appointments and access
When you book an appointment, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your issue
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to your home and devices
- Be present during the appointment unless otherwise agreed
- I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service if a situation is unsafe, inappropriate, or outside of my scope.
4. Pricing and payment
My current pricing is:
- $125 for the first hour (which is paid when making your booking)
- $100 per hour thereafter, billed in 20-minute increments and rounded up to the nearest 20 minutes
- 1-hour minimum
Subsequent payments are due at the end of the visit unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted payment methods may include card, bank transfer, or PayPal
5. Limitation of liability
While I take care in my work, you acknowledge that:
- Technology can behave unpredictably
- Changes or updates may affect how devices operate
Tech Help At Home is not responsible for:
- Pre-existing faults or issues
- Data loss not caused directly by my actions
- Issues arising after a service due to software updates, third-party changes, or user actions
- To the extent permitted by Australian law, my liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.
7. Data and privacy
I respect your privacy. Any personal information collected is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on this website.
I do not access, copy, or retain personal files unless required to perform the requested service, and only with your permission.
8. Respectful behaviour
I expect all interactions to be respectful. Harassment, abuse, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in termination of service.
9. Changes to these terms
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this website.
